Seven places a business leaks money. We read all seven

Not the marketing on its own. Advertising, promotions, pricing, range, channels, sales and the client base, read together – because the leak is usually in the one nobody was looking at.

Every line above is a finding from the sample report on this page.

A chiropractic & wellness clinic on Vancouver Island, BC – an anonymized demonstration case. We segmented 843 clients by lifetime value, priced every entry point over 3 years, and found the clinic's most valuable client walking in through its least-used door – with the revenue math attached, stated on contribution margin.

What the owner left with

The clinic's most valuable door – a prenatal client worth $2,245 over 3 years – was the one only 20% of the maternal cluster used. The most common, infant care at 52%, returned $862. The clinic was not short of clients; it was admitting them through the wrong door.

Every finding comes with a number and a decision

Three rows from the decision table of the sample report. This is the unit the Audit is priced in: gross profit a month, per leak, with what to do about it.

The leakWhat the data showsDecisionEffect
01Promos eat the margin Happy Hour needs +34.5% volume to break even; it actually delivers +18%. Stop it, or rebuild it around the occasion it was meant to serve.
+$1.45–1.55kgross profit / month
02The menu under-monetizes the visit 38% of tickets are drink-only; 13 tail items occupy 46% of the menu for 13.7% of gross profit. Cut the tail, attach food, bundle the pair.
+$1.8–2.3kgross profit / month
0531% of media spend sits in weak channels $1,300 a month goes to boosted posts and flyers at $33–67 per acquired customer. Reallocate the same $3.6k budget; no new money.
+$1.0–1.3kgross profit / month

From the illustrative coffee-shop audit in the sample report below – six leaks in total, bridged to a realistic steady-state target after overlap between them is taken out. The business, its competitors and every figure are illustrative; the method is the one you receive.

One question, taken apart on your own numbers

The small report. You bring one question; within 7 days you get the arithmetic behind it, a verdict and the next step. Three of the questions it is built for:

“Should I keep running happy hour?”
What comes back
The extra volume the discount needs to break even, against the volume it actually brings. A verdict: stop, rebuild or keep – and what to run in its place.
Ask this →
“Why don't customers come back?”
What comes back
Your repeat rate at 30, 60 and 90 days, where the sequence after the first purchase breaks, and the follow-up engine that closes the gap – costed.
Ask this →
“Is my average ticket too low?”
What comes back
The ticket read against your range and prices: which items lift the basket, which drag it, and the two or three changes that move it without touching traffic.

Several questions at once, and unsure which comes first? That is the Growth Audit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy this if I’m not in British Columbia or Canada?

Yes. Everything happens by email on your own numbers, so where you are does not change the work. Reports are written in English and priced in Canadian dollars.

What if I’m not satisfied with the report?

Say so within 14 days of delivery and we refund the fee in full – the deposit included, no reasons required. That refund is available once per client. On the Audit you can also stop earlier: after week one, with your client data segmented, either of us can call it off and the balance is never invoiced.

Is this suitable for small businesses?

It is built for them. The case on this page is a clinic with 843 clients; the sample report is a coffee shop doing $64k a month. A raw export from your booking system, POS or spreadsheets is enough – we clean the data ourselves.

Does this make sense if I already have a marketing team?

Yes. The report is the decision layer your team executes: which customers to go after, with which message, in which channel, and what that is worth. Growth Advisory adds CMO-level oversight of that execution without hiring a full-time CMO.

How is this different from an agency?

Agencies sell execution: ads, posts, websites. We sell the decision that should come first, with the math attached, and briefs any contractor can execute. The clearest answer is the document itself – read the sample report and compare it with an agency proposal.

Who sees my numbers?

Only us, and only for your engagement. We sign your NDA if you have one. Your figures are never published: the case on this page is anonymised and rescaled, so the method and the ratios are real but the absolute numbers are not the client’s own.

Order your report

You get a written reply within one business day confirming scope, price and start date. Nothing is invoiced until you have agreed to all three.

Then a short questionnaire and an export of your numbers – a booking system, POS, CRM or spreadsheets, whatever you already use. We clean the data ourselves.
